The Eden Safe Harbour Project is a NSW Government funded project to improve safety of recreational, commercial and port vesselsin Snug Covewhich is exposed to significant wind and wave action on the far south coast. The proposed attenuator structure will improve operational safety at the port as well as reduce risk of damage to moored vessels during periods of inclement weather. MES were commissioned to undertake marine geophysical surveys in Snug Harbour to achieve a good appreciation of the complex geological structures and bedrock levels in the harbour for planning the preferred location of the attenuator structure as well as properties of the bedrock for geotechnical design.

TECHNIQUES USED
  • Sub-bottom profiling
  • Side scan sonar
  • Marine magnetometer
  • Continuous marine seismic refraction
