As part of a Queensland Government initiative, a 13km submarine electrical cable and pipeline is prosed to provide essential infrastructure for Great Keppel Island’s redevelopment.  As part of the project, MES was commissioned to undertake geophysical and hydrographic surveys between Haven Beach and Great Keppel Island.  The objectives of the investigations were to determine a suitable alignment of the infrastructure to avoid and reef or sensitive marine areas and to assess shallow seabed geology, seabed morphology and seabed levels for cable and pipeline installation planning and design.
